A unique International craft festival, the Surajkund Mela is a platform for artists across the globe to showcase their culture and talent. Hosted annually by the Haryana Tourism Department in Surajkund, the mela has many offbeat attractions for tourists of every age. It attracts millions of tourists.

History of Surajkund Crafts Mela

This fair was first started in 1987
During 2009, with Madhya Pradesh as the theme state, 50 crafts’ persons from SAARC countries, Thailand and Egypt also participated in the Mela
2015 edition of fair was visited by 1.2 million visitors including 160,000 foreigners
In 2016 edition China will be participating in the fair as a part of agreement signed between India and China to celebrate 2016 as “Year of China in India”
For the 34th Surajkund International Crafts Mela-2020, the state of Himachal Pradesh has been chosen to be the Theme State

Air

Delhi International airport is the nearest airport 25 kms away from Surajkund. It is connected to most of the international cities and major cities in India

Train

Delhi is the nearest railway junction. Faridabad and Gurgaon are both linked to Delhi via railway lines. From each of these stations, one can travel to Surajkund by car/cab or tourist coach.
