History

1.  Samoan time forward by 24 hours – wiping December 30 off the Samoan calendar in 2011 and jumping straight to December 31
2. Organizers say the celebration to welcome in 2019 was be the biggest ever with 6 million Australian dollars (4.22 million US dollars) spent on 12 minutes of fireworks.
3. The previous time zone, was implemented on 4 July 1892, operated in line with American traders based in California
