History of  Goa Carnival

1. The Goan carnival has roots to its colonization by Portuguese
2. Till 1965 the carnival was celebrated as a small street festival
3. Timoteo Fernandes a Goan musician modeled it like the famous Rio Carnival in 1965
4. According to Goan tourism department, this festival is celebrated since 18^th century
5. According to local tradition, during Carnival Goa is taken over by King Momo,
