It is one of the highest waterfalls in Kerala, 300 ft high. The water forms a milk like colour in the waterfalls which gained it the name Palaruvi (meaning milk stream in Malayalam). The local legends says that the water has medicinal value. The soothing effect of the cold water flowing through forest and the fresh air will definitely energizes you.

1. The time when Palaruvi became a tourist destination is not known
2. This area was under Travancore kings till 1947
3. The Travancore kings have made a Kalmandapam there in 17^th century CE
4. Post Kerala state formation in 1956, it became part of Kollam district
