History of  Rio Carnival

1. Carnivals started in Brazil with the Portuguese immigration during late 18^th century
2. Samba music was added to parade in 1917
3. The Samba parade was started by 1930s
4. The first Samba parade competitions were started in 1933
5. From 1984 onward the parade started to be held in two days and Sambadrome was built
