Sintra – Royal sanctuary of Portugal with history and mistery

Sintra is a resort town in the foothills of Portugal’s Sintra Mountains, near the capital, Lisbon. A longtime royal sanctuary, its forested terrain is studded with pastel-colored villas and palaces. 


  1. 1 The earliest remnants of human occupation were discovered in Penha Verde: dating to the early Paleolithic.

How to reach there


Sintra is a short drive from Lisbon. The town can be reached from Lisbon in just half an hour on the IC19 motorway.


Sintra train station (GPS: 38.79870, -9.38646) is the final stop of both train services, isbon’s commuter railway network (CP Urban Services) provides direct services to Sintra. The journey to Lisbon takes 35–45 minutes


Lisbon airport is the nearest ait port. It is connected to Aathens , Paris, London,Dubai , Boston and Brussels
